Rock im Park Festival 2027 – Nuremberg, Germany
Overview
Rock im Park Festival 2027 will take place from 4–6 June 2027 at Zeppelinfeld in Nuremberg, Germany. The festival is one of Germany’s major multi-day rock and alternative music events and returns to Nuremberg for its 31st edition in 2027. The official campsites around Dutzendteich open one day before the concerts, on 3 June.
The festival brings together major international rock and metal acts, established alternative and punk bands, pop-punk performers and newer artists. The first major 2027 announcement already includes blink-182, Die Toten Hosen and Bring Me The Horizon as the three headline acts, alongside Faith No More, Parkway Drive, Billy Talent, Evanescence, Turnstile, The Prodigy and many others.
Rock im Park is also the southern German sister festival to Rock am Ring. Both festivals share a large part of their programme while taking place at different locations on the same weekend.

What Makes This Event Special
One of the defining features of Rock im Park is the combination of a large urban festival location with an extensive camping experience. Zeppelinfeld is located within Nuremberg, close to Dutzendteich and other attractions, rather than being isolated in a rural festival field.
The musical programme covers a wide spectrum of guitar-driven music. Rock, alternative rock, punk, pop-punk, hardcore, metal and related contemporary styles are represented, while acts such as The Prodigy and Ski Aggu demonstrate that the programme extends beyond traditional rock.
The festival also offers several camping formats. General Camping and Green Camping are available alongside upgraded options such as Forest Backstage Camping, Seaside Backstage Camping, Atmos Camping and vehicle-based camping.

The festival’s camping system gives visitors several different ways to stay on site. General Camping provides the standard festival camping experience, while Green Camping places greater emphasis on waste separation, environmental considerations and designated quiet hours.

Location & Venue
The festival takes place at Zeppelinfeld, in the southeastern part of Nuremberg.
Rock im Park is centred around the Zeppelinfeld event grounds, with camping areas extending around the nearby Dutzendteich area.
The location is unusual for a major camping festival because it is within the city of Nuremberg. This allows visitors to combine the festival with the city’s historic centre, museums, restaurants and other attractions. The wider area around Zeppelinfeld and Dutzendteich also contains several important historical sites, including the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds and the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds complex.
Event History
Rock im Park is the Nuremberg counterpart to Rock am Ring and has developed into one of Germany’s major annual rock festivals. The festival has traditionally shared its musical programme with Rock am Ring, allowing many major international artists to perform at both events during the same festival weekend.
The 2026 edition demonstrated the scale of the event, with the organisers reporting approximately 80,000 visitors on each of the three festival days. The 2027 edition will continue that established three-day format in Nuremberg.
The 2027 edition also marks an important return for several major artists. The organisers announced blink-182 as the first 2027 headliner in June 2026, followed by Die Toten Hosen and Bring Me The Horizon as the other two headliners in September.
Getting to the Event
By Train
Nuremberg Central Station is the main rail gateway for visitors arriving from other German cities and neighbouring countries.
From the main station, visitors can continue to the festival area using Nuremberg’s public-transport network. The organisers specifically recommend public transport and state that festival tickets include free use of the Greater Nuremberg Transport Association (VGN) network during the relevant festival period.
By Car
Visitors arriving by car should follow the festival’s official parking instructions rather than relying solely on standard navigation applications.
The organisers recommend the NUNAV app, which uses festival-specific traffic and parking information. They specifically warn that some routes shown by standard navigation apps may not be suitable during the festival.
Carpooling and Park & Ride are encouraged. Parking and camping areas open from approximately 9:00 am on Thursday, 3 June.
By Public Transport
Public transport is particularly convenient because the festival is located within Nuremberg.
Festival tickets include free use of the VGN public-transport network during the applicable period, making public transport a practical option for visitors staying in central Nuremberg rather than camping.
By Bicycle
Visitors travelling from Nuremberg and the surrounding area can also cycle to the festival. The organisers encourage bicycle travel as a way to reduce road traffic around the event.
Where to Stay Nearby
Camping is one of the main accommodation options for Rock im Park, but visitors who prefer a hotel have many choices in Nuremberg.
Congress Hotel Mercure Nuernberg an der Messe is located near the festival area and the NürnbergMesse district. Novotel Nuernberg Messezentrum is another nearby hotel option.
For visitors who prefer to stay closer to the city centre, Le Méridien Grand Hotel Nuremberg is located beside Nuremberg Central Station, making it convenient for both rail travel and public transport to the festival.
Other central options include Premier inn and SORAT Hotel Saxx Nuremberg.
Because the festival attracts a large audience, visitors staying in hotels should arrange accommodation well in advance.
Things to Do Before or After the Event
Nuremberg offers plenty to explore beyond the festival grounds.
The Old Town is the natural starting point for a city visit, with its medieval streets, churches, city walls and historic buildings. Nuremberg Castle provides views over the historic centre, while the Germanisches Nationalmuseum offers a broad collection of German cultural history.
The Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds is particularly relevant because of the historical significance of the area surrounding Zeppelinfeld. Visitors can also explore the remaining structures and open spaces of the former rally-ground complex.
For a more relaxed break, Dutzendteich and the surrounding green spaces provide walking opportunities close to the festival site. Visitors staying for longer can also explore nearby Franconian destinations, including Bamberg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber and the Franconian countryside.
Restaurants & Dining Nearby
Visitors staying near the festival grounds have several dining options around Dutzendteich and the southeastern part of Nuremberg. Gutmann am Dutzendteich is located close to the festival area on Bayernstraße and provides a convenient option for a meal before or after exploring the city.
Gaststätte Zeppelinfeld is also close to the festival grounds and offers a more traditional local setting. For visitors staying closer to the city centre, Nuremberg has a much wider choice of Franconian and international restaurants. Albrecht-Dürer-Stube is one option in the historic centre, while Fränk’ness provides another central dining option.
During the festival itself, visitors can also use the food and beverage facilities within the event grounds and camping areas.
Ticket Information
Rock im Park 2027 tickets are currently on sale, including festival tickets with camping.
The official ticket system currently offers Festival Ticket – General Camping and Festival Ticket – Green Camping. Both provide access to all three festival days and include the corresponding camping area and designated parking. The ticket also includes free VGN public transport.
The official ticket page currently displays an example payment plan of €30.16 per instalment over 12 instalments, with an effective interest rate of 9.9% and a total of €361.66 including shipping. This is a payment-plan example rather than a simple advertised face value, so visitors should check the current checkout price before purchasing.
Day tickets are also currently available in a limited allocation. Additional camping upgrades include Forest Backstage Camping, Atmos Camping, Caravan Camping, Minivan Camping and other premium options. Some 2027 upgrades, including Seaside Backstage Camping and certain vehicle badges, are already shown as sold out.
Tips Before You Go
If you intend to camp, check exactly which camping category your ticket provides before travelling. General Camping and Green Camping are included with their respective festival tickets, while upgraded camping products have their own requirements.
Arrive from Thursday if you are camping. The official camping and parking areas do not open before approximately 9:00 am on 3 June 2027, and early arrival is specifically discouraged. Use public transport whenever possible. The festival’s location within Nuremberg makes this particularly practical, and the applicable festival tickets include VGN public transport.
If driving, use the official traffic instructions and NUNAV rather than relying exclusively on Google Maps or Apple Maps. Festival-specific traffic restrictions can make normal routes unsuitable. Keep your festival wristband secure. Entry to the concert area requires the festival wristband, and security checks take place at entrances.
