The event brings together space-industry professionals, students, scientists, engineers, families, astronomy enthusiasts and members of the general public for several days of exhibitions, conferences, demonstrations, educational activities and entertainment.

The 2027 edition will take place from 22 to 24 January 2027 at MEETT. Toulouse is a particularly appropriate host city because of its important role in Europe’s aerospace industry. The festival connects visitors with organisations, companies, schools, associations and experts involved in space exploration, satellites, Earth observation, engineering and related technologies.

What Makes This Event Special

The main feature of Toulouse Space Festival is its combination of professional space industry content with activities designed for the general public.

Visitors can explore the latest developments in the space sector while also taking part in interactive experiences. Previous editions have included exhibitions, educational workshops, virtual-reality experiences, astronomy activities, gaming, cinema screenings and career forums.

The 2027 programme is already being built around several areas including Earth observation, space careers, CNES activities, exhibitions, immersive experiences and educational demonstrations. The conference programme currently identifies Earth observation and space defence among its major themes.

The event is also strongly focused on education. Schools, universities and young people are given dedicated opportunities to meet professionals and discover careers in aerospace and space technology.

For families, the festival provides a more accessible introduction to space science through practical activities rather than relying only on traditional lectures.

Lineup / Featured Speakers

The full Toulouse Space Festival 2027 speaker programme has not yet been announced. The official speakers page states that the programme is still being developed.

One speaker currently listed for 2027 is Jean-Daniel Testé, a consultant and associate at BLCONSULTING with a professional background spanning military intelligence, satellite imagery and space programmes. His career has included work connected with the HELIOS 1 Earth-observation satellite programme and the CNES.

The final programme is expected to include specialists from different parts of the space ecosystem. Previous editions have featured representatives from organisations such as CNES, Airbus Defence and Space, Thales Alenia Space, the European Space Agency, universities, research organisations and aerospace companies.

These previous participants should not be treated as confirmed 2027 speakers until they appear in the official programme.

Event Experience

Toulouse Space Festival is designed as an immersive event where visitors can spend several hours exploring different areas of the MEETT.

The exhibition areas allow visitors to discover space companies, research organisations, schools, associations and technology projects. Demonstrations and interactive installations provide opportunities to learn about satellites, astronomy, robotics, exploration and other aspects of the space industry.

The festival also includes a strong entertainment component. Previous editions have featured gaming, virtual-reality experiences, simulators, cinema screenings, astronomy observation and hands-on workshops.

The 2027 programme already includes activities such as an astronaut helmet-building workshop, a solar-system exhibition, astronomy demonstrations, immersive experiences and activities explaining scientific concepts to children. Some activities have minimum age recommendations.

The Saturday evening Ciné & Étoiles programme adds another dimension to the event, combining film screenings with sky observation, a DJ set and food trucks. The 2027 evening is scheduled to continue until approximately 20:30.

Location & Venue

Toulouse Space Festival 2027 will take place at MEETT – Parc des Expositions, Centre de Conventions & Congrès, located at Concorde Avenue, 31840 Aussonne, immediately north-west of Toulouse.

MEETT provides a large indoor exhibition and convention environment suitable for the festival’s mixture of conferences, exhibitors, educational areas, entertainment and interactive installations.

The venue is approximately 20 minutes from central Toulouse by road and around seven minutes from Toulouse-Blagnac Airport under normal conditions. MEETT also has a large secure parking area with approximately 5,000 spaces.

The venue has previously been transformed into a temporary space centre, with exhibition stands, conference areas, planetarium-style experiences, astronomy activities, food areas and outdoor entertainment.

The precise 2027 floor plan will depend on the final exhibitor and activity programme.

Event History

Toulouse Space Festival was launched as a major public event celebrating the aerospace and space ecosystem of Toulouse and the wider Occitanie region.

The first edition took place in 2024, followed by a second edition in May 2025. The 2025 edition attracted more than 12,500 visitors, with around 90 exhibitors and more than 80 conferences spread across four days. Around 2,000 students and schoolchildren also took part in the educational programme.

The 2025 edition included major organisations and companies from the aerospace sector, including CNES, Airbus Defence and Space, Thales Alenia Space and the European Space Agency, alongside schools, universities, associations and technology companies.

The festival’s development has been closely linked to Toulouse’s role as one of Europe’s major aerospace centres. Its organisers aim to make the sector accessible not only to professionals but also to young people, families and people who are simply curious about space.

The 2027 edition is the festival’s third edition, continuing the event’s development with a new programme of conferences, exhibitions, interactive experiences and educational activities.

Getting to the Event

MEETT is located at Concorde Avenue in Aussonne and is accessible by car, public transport and bicycle.

By tram, visitors can take Tisséo Tram Line T1 to the MEETT stop, which is directly beside the exhibition centre. This is one of the easiest options for visitors staying in Toulouse. By bus, Line 30 also serves the MEETT stop.

By car, the venue can be reached via the D902 and N224. MEETT provides approximately 5,000 secure parking spaces, and parking is currently advertised as free for Toulouse Space Festival visitors. Cyclists can use the venue’s approximately 400 covered bicycle parking spaces located near the entrance.

For international visitors, Toulouse-Blagnac Airport is particularly convenient. The festival’s official information estimates the airport-to-MEETT journey at approximately seven minutes by road under normal conditions.

Because the festival is held at a large exhibition centre outside the historic city centre, checking the public transport timetable before returning to central Toulouse is recommended.

Where to Stay Nearby

Visitors can stay either in central Toulouse, around the airport and Blagnac, or closer to MEETT in the northern suburbs.

For visitors who want to combine the festival with sightseeing, central Toulouse provides the largest choice of hotels, restaurants and attractions. The journey to MEETT can then be made using Tram T1 or other public transport. Visitors prioritising convenience for the festival may prefer accommodation around Blagnac and the airport. The current local hotel options include Appart’hôtel Odalys City Toulouse Blagnac Aéroport and Mercure Toulouse Aéroport Blagnac.

Another option close to the wider MEETT area is Hôtel Mercure Toulouse Aéroport Golf de Seilh in Seilh. For a central Toulouse stay, visitors can consider hotels such as Grand Hôtel de l’Opéra Toulouse Centre or Hotel du Grand Balcon.

The festival organisation also states that preferential accommodation rates may be available through partner hotels, including breakfast and a reduced festival entry rate.

Things to Do Before or After the Event

Toulouse offers plenty to explore beyond the festival.

The Cité de l’espace is one of the city’s best-known space attractions and is particularly relevant to visitors travelling for Toulouse Space Festival. Its exhibitions and experiences focus on space exploration, astronomy and human spaceflight. The Airbus and aerospace heritage of Toulouse is another major part of the city’s identity. Depending on availability, visitors can explore aerospace-related attractions and tours in the Toulouse area.

The historic centre of Toulouse is also worth visiting. The Capitole de Toulouse, Place du Capitole, Basilica of Saint-Sernin and the city’s red-brick architecture provide a strong contrast to the modern aerospace environment around MEETT. Visitors can walk along the Garonne River, explore the city’s cafés and restaurants or visit museums and cultural attractions.

For families, the combination of Toulouse Space Festival and Cité de l’espace can create a longer space-themed city break.

Restaurants & Dining Nearby

The Toulouse Space Festival provides several food and refreshment points inside MEETT. The organisers state that multiple catering areas will be available during the 2027 festival, with further details to be announced. Visitors staying in the Blagnac or central Toulouse areas will have a much wider selection of restaurants.

Near the airport and exhibition area, P’tit Tanique provides a local dining option. In Toulouse itself, visitors have a much broader choice of French and international cuisine. Au Pois Gourmand is one option for visitors staying near the city centre and western side of Toulouse. Visitors attending the festival for a full day should also remember that leaving the venue means definitive exit under the current ticket rules, so planning meals around the MEETT catering facilities may be more convenient than leaving the venue during the day.

Ticket Information

2027 ticket prices are already published.

The current official pricing is:

  • Standard entry at the venue: €15
  • Web promotional ticket: €12 for online purchases made through 15 January 2027
  • Reduced ticket: €10 for students, jobseekers, people with disabilities and holders of the Pastel Tisséo card, with supporting documentation
  • Children aged 5–10: €5
  • Children under 5: Free when accompanied
  • Ciné & Étoiles evening: €7, sold on site

The organisers also provide arrangements for school groups, works councils and groups of more than 10 people by prior contact.

The current ticket information states that each ticket is valid for one entry only and that leaving the festival site is definitive. Parking is currently offered free of charge.

Visitors should check the official ticketing page before travelling because prices, promotional periods and ticket conditions can change.

Tips Before You Go

If you are primarily interested in the professional or educational side of the event, Friday 22 January is the most relevant day because it is specifically designed around students, researchers, young professionals and career opportunities.

Families and general visitors should focus on Saturday 23 or Sunday 24 January, when the programme is specifically aimed at the wider public. Arrive early if you want to participate in popular workshops or interactive activities. Some 2027 activities have specific age requirements and scheduled sessions.

If you are travelling by tram, use the MEETT stop on Tram T1, which is directly beside the exhibition centre. For visitors driving, free parking is currently listed at MEETT, but arriving early can make the experience easier on busy festival days.

If you plan to attend the Saturday Ciné & Étoiles evening, remember that this is a separate evening component with its own ticket price. Families should check the age recommendations for individual workshops. Current 2027 activities include options for children from around three, five, six or seven years old depending on the activity.

Because the festival covers professional space technology as well as entertainment, reading the programme in advance is worthwhile. You can then decide whether your priorities are conferences, exhibitors, careers, astronomy, gaming, cinema or family activities.
