What to expect in 2027

Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB® 2027 will bring a multi-distance trail-running festival to Ordino and the surrounding mountains of Andorra from 10–13 June 2027. The event is part of the UTMB® World Series and offers five principal race distances, allowing runners to choose between the shorter Trail 10K and Trail 21K and the more demanding Trail 50K, Trail 80K and Ultra 105K. The races combine mountain trails, substantial elevation gain and views across the Pyrenees.

The 2027 programme is already open for registration. The Ultra 105K covers approximately 105 kilometres with around 6,800 metres of elevation gain, while the Trail 80K covers 79 kilometres with around 3,900 metres of ascent. The Trail 50K offers 50 kilometres and approximately 3,400 metres of elevation gain, the Trail 21K covers 24.9 kilometres with approximately 1,350 metres of ascent, and the Trail 10K covers 10 kilometres with around 500 metres of elevation gain.

The festival is more than the races themselves. Race week includes runner registration and bib collection, an event expo, UTMB World Series merchandise, presentations, community activities, the finish-line atmosphere and opportunities for supporters to follow runners around Ordino. The official 2027 programme will be published closer to the event, so some race-week activities and exact timings remain subject to confirmation.

Stadium & sports venue

Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB® does not use a conventional stadium. The event is centered in the mountain village of Ordino, with the start and finish area located around the village and the courses extending through Andorra’s mountain trails.

The official event information identifies Ordino as the start and finish location. The race village and finish area are associated with Carrer Major de Ordino and Plaça de l’Església, while runner services and race-week activities are located around the Ordino civic and sports facilities and the event expo at Plaça Prat de Call.

Each race uses a different trail route, meaning competitors leave the village and move through mountainous terrain rather than completing laps inside a stadium. The routes include high mountain landscapes, forests, lakes, valleys and exposed sections depending on the distance.

For spectators, Ordino provides the central gathering point where runners start and eventually return to the finish. Supporters can follow the official supporter information and live tracking rather than attempting to access remote sections of the mountain courses independently.

Full fixture or event schedule

The complete 2027 race-week programme has not yet been published. The organizers currently state that the 2027 edition programme will become available closer to the event. The 2026 programme provides a useful indication of how race week is normally organized.

The confirmed 2027 race schedule currently includes:

  • Friday, 11 June: Trail 80K starts at 08:00.
  • Saturday, 12 June: Ultra 105K starts at 06:00 and Trail 50K starts at 07:30.
  • Sunday, 13 June: Trail 21K starts at 08:00 and Trail 10K starts at 09:00.

The 2026 race-week programme included bib collection, the official event expo, UTMB World Series merchandise, an elite runner presentation, Trail 100 Kids, yoga, a social run, Pilates, award ceremonies and Happy HouRDINO activities. These events provide an indication of the type of activities that may return in 2027, although the 2027 times and programme should be treated as pending confirmation.

Teams, athletes & participants

Unlike a traditional team sport, Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB® brings together individual trail runners competing across different age groups and distances. Participants range from recreational mountain runners taking on shorter distances to experienced ultra-trail athletes competing over 80 or 105 kilometres.

The 2027 race programme is designed for different levels of trail-running experience. The Trail 10K is the most accessible race, while the Ultra 105K requires substantial endurance and mountain-running preparation.

The official registration information states that runners born in 2012 or earlier can participate in the Trail 10K, while runners born in 2008 or earlier can enter the 21K, 50K, 80K and 105K races. The event also maintains age categories extending from younger adult groups through senior categories.

Elite athletes can also participate under the event’s elite-runner registration conditions. A current 2027 runner start list is available through the official event system, allowing participants and supporters to search for registered runners.

Tournament format & competition structure

Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB® uses individual mass-start trail races rather than a tournament bracket or team competition. Every runner completes a single-stage mountain course within the maximum time allowed for their selected distance.

The 2027 race categories are:

  • Ultra 105K: 105 KM, approximately 6,800 M+ elevation, 4 Running Stones.
  • Trail 80K: 79 KM, approximately 3,900 M+ elevation, 3 Running Stones.
  • Trail 50K: 50 KM, approximately 3,400 M+ elevation, 2 Running Stones.
  • Trail 21K: 24.9 KM, approximately 1,350 M+ elevation, 1 Running Stone.
  • Trail 10K: 10 KM, approximately 500 M+ elevation.

The Ultra 105K and Trail 80K are the longer UTMB World Series categories, while the shorter distances provide options for runners seeking a shorter mountain challenge.

The Ultra 105K has a maximum allowed race time of 34 hours, the Trail 80K has a 21-hour limit, the Trail 50K has a 14-hour limit, the Trail 21K has a six-hour limit and the Trail 10K has a four-hour limit.

Match/event times

The principal 2027 race start times are already published.

The Ultra 105K begins in Ordino at 06:00 on Saturday, 12 June. The Trail 50K follows at 07:30 the same morning. The Trail 80K starts at 08:00 on Friday, 11 June, while the Trail 21K and Trail 10K start at 08:00 and 09:00 respectively on Sunday, 13 June.

Because the longer races continue for many hours, finishers can arrive throughout the day and, for the Ultra 105K, into the following day. The 2026 programme estimated the first Trail 80K arrival shortly after 16:00, the first Trail 50K arrival around 12:45 and the first Ultra 105K arrival around 19:35, but these are historical reference times rather than confirmed 2027 timings.

Ticket types

Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB® is primarily a participant-entry event rather than a conventional spectator-ticketed sporting event. Runners pay registration fees for their selected race distance, while supporters can experience the start, finish and public race-week atmosphere without a traditional stadium admission ticket.

The current 2027 registration fees shown by the official website, converted from euros to US dollars at approximately $1.16 per €1 for this listing, are:

  • Trail 10K: $70.96 current tier or approximately $83.01 at the next tier.
  • Trail 21K: $147.29 current tier or approximately $166.02 at the next tier.
  • Trail 50K: $218.23.
  • Trail 80K: $307.95 current tier or approximately $326.69 at the next tier.
  • Ultra 105K: $345.42 current tier or approximately $365.52 at the next tier.

The official website states that these prices include the general entry fee, processing fee and VAT. Registration prices can change as places move between pricing tiers.

The Trail 50K’s general 2027 entries are currently sold out, although the organizer is offering a limited number of special entries through Premium Runner Services.

Ticket release phases

For this event, the relevant release phases are registration windows and pricing tiers rather than spectator ticket sales.

The 2027 event is currently open for general registration, with the registration platform displaying current and next-tier prices for most distances. Availability is subject to the number of places remaining in each race.

The Trail 50K is already showing general entries as sold out, with limited special entries available through Premium Runner Services. This demonstrates why runners should monitor the official registration platform rather than waiting for a traditional ticket-release date.

The event also provides priority registration arrangements for runners with a valid UTMB Index under the UTMB World Series system. Exact future registration phases can depend on the event’s availability and the organizer’s registration policy.

VIP & hospitality options

Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB® does not operate around traditional VIP stadium seating. Instead, premium participant services are designed around race logistics, comfort and support.

For the 2027 Trail 50K, Premium Runner Services powered by Nirvana are currently available because general entries have sold out. The service includes personalized assistance, transportation to the start on race day, race familiarization talks from the operations team and access to the finish-area zone for family members and supporters.

For other distances, runners should check the official registration platform for any additional premium services that become available.

The race-week expo and central Ordino activities also provide public spaces where supporters can experience the event without requiring a conventional VIP ticket.

Stadium & event rules

Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB® uses mountain-running regulations covering route compliance, mandatory equipment, safety, participant conduct and environmental responsibilities.

Mandatory equipment requirements are particularly important for the longer races. The official regulations specify safety items including sufficient water, a waterproof jacket with hood, a torch, a survival blanket and a smartphone for the relevant ultra categories. Missing required equipment can result in penalties or disqualification.

Runners must follow the marked route and may not take shortcuts. Refusing a mandatory equipment check can lead to disqualification. Turning off a smartphone or putting it into airplane mode can also result in a penalty under the published regulations.

Participants and their supporters are expected to respect volunteers, other runners, the organization and the natural environment. Deliberately discarding rubbish or ignoring designated facilities can result in penalties.

Bib collection must be completed in person. Runners are required to present photo identification and their registration QR code, and another person cannot collect the bib on their behalf.

How to get there

Ordino is located in northern Andorra in the Pyrenees. Since Andorra has no commercial airport, international visitors generally travel through nearby airports in Spain or France before continuing overland to the country.

Barcelona-El Prat is one of the major international gateways used by visitors travelling to Andorra. Toulouse-Blagnac and other regional airports can also be considered depending on flight availability and the traveler’s starting point.

From the airport, visitors can continue by rental car, private transfer, coach or other ground transportation. Runners should allow additional travel time during race week because mountain roads and local traffic can affect journey times.

For participants, arriving in Ordino early enough to complete bib collection and attend race briefings is particularly important. The exact 2027 registration and race-week timetable will be published by the organizers closer to the event.

Public transport & parking

Ordino is connected to the wider Andorran road and public-transport network, with buses and taxis providing connections between towns and resort areas.

Because the race village occupies central areas of Ordino and some roads can be affected by race operations, visitors should follow the event’s traffic and parking instructions rather than assuming that every normal parking area will remain accessible during race starts.

The event has previously used specific facilities around Ordino for runner services, including the Centre Cívic i Esportiu, while race starts and finishes have been centered around the village.

Supporters attending early morning starts should plan their journey in advance, particularly for the 06:00 Ultra 105K start. Public transport services may have limited early-morning frequency, so private transfers or pre-arranged transport can be useful for those attending the earliest start.

Accommodation areas

Ordino is the most convenient base for runners who want to remain close to the race village and start/finish area. The official event site provides accommodation information and works with Nirvana as a travel and accommodation partner.

Other areas to consider include:

  • Ordino: Closest to the central race activities and suitable for runners prioritizing convenience.
  • La Massana: A nearby mountain town with accommodation and transport connections.
  • Andorra la Vella: Offers a larger selection of hotels, restaurants and services.
  • Escaldes-Engordany: Convenient for visitors who want access to shopping, restaurants and wellness facilities.
  • Canillo: Another option for visitors seeking a mountain-resort environment.

Runners should consider the distance between their accommodation and the start location when choosing where to stay. Early race starts make proximity particularly valuable for the Ultra 105K and Trail 50K.

Food & drink at the venue

Food and hydration are important elements of Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB® because runners spend many hours on mountain courses.

The official nutrition partner is NAAK. Race-day aid stations provide different levels of refreshments and supplies, including drinks, sweet foods, salty foods and starch-based foods depending on the aid station. Runners must carry suitable personal equipment and should not rely exclusively on what is available at one checkpoint.

The organizers also state that cups are not provided at aid stations for sustainability reasons. Participants need to carry an appropriate vessel, flask or hydration system so that drinks can be supplied directly to them.

During the wider race week, the 2026 programme included specialty coffee for runners and food-and-drink activities around the expo. The 2027 programme may contain similar activities, but exact vendors and schedules have not yet been announced.

Ordino and the surrounding Andorran towns also offer restaurants, cafés, bakeries and supermarkets for spectators and runners.

Accessibility

Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB® takes place in a mountainous environment, so accessibility varies considerably between the central event areas and remote sections of the trail.

The start and finish areas in Ordino are the most practical places for supporters who need easier access. The village-based areas are more accessible than mountain checkpoints, which can require hiking or off-road travel and may not be suitable for people with limited mobility.

UTMB has an adaptive-sport policy for athletes with visual, intellectual, physical or neurological disabilities. The policy includes an open adaptive-athlete division and allows eligible athletes to use a guide runner with an additional free bib under the applicable conditions.

Participants who require specific assistance should contact the event organization before travelling so that available arrangements can be confirmed.

Best matches/events to attend

The Ultra 105K is the flagship distance and provides the longest challenge of the festival. Its 105-kilometre course and approximately 6,800 metres of elevation gain take runners through some of Andorra’s most demanding mountain terrain.

The Trail 80K is another major race to follow, covering approximately 79 kilometres and 3,900 metres of elevation gain. Its route is designed to cross the country while featuring mountain scenery, lakes, waterfalls and other natural landmarks.

The Trail 50K provides a substantial mountain challenge without the distance of the two ultra races. The course includes the Casamanya crossing and sections associated with the Comapedrosa Natural Park.

The Trail 21K is a shorter but still mountainous race featuring the Casamanya area, while the Trail 10K offers the most accessible distance and includes the Creu del Noral viewpoint.

For spectators, the start and finish atmosphere in Ordino is the easiest place to experience multiple aspects of the festival without attempting to reach remote mountain sections.

Previous year’s highlights

The 2026 edition produced strong international competition across the event’s different distances. In the Ultra 105K, Rod Farvard of the United States won the men’s race in 13:32:35, followed by Paul Creuzet of France and Dylan Roces of France. Martina Valmassoi of Italy won the women’s race in 14:54:05.

The 2026 Trail 50K also attracted a large international field. Robert Pkemoi of Kenya won in 5:13:28, followed by Maximilien Drion of Belgium and Daniel Castillo of Spain. The official results record 621 finishers/results for the race.

The Trail 80K was won by Samuel Ponce of Andorra in 7:39:01, while Juliane Rössler of Germany won the women’s race in 9:19:57. The results demonstrated the international character of the competition, with athletes from numerous countries participating.

The 2026 event also provided a substantial race-week programme around Ordino, including the expo, runner presentations, community activities, merchandise, ceremonies and live tracking. These elements are expected to remain important parts of the overall Trail 100 Andorra experience, although the precise 2027 schedule remains to be published.

Official tickets

Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB® is primarily a registration-based running event. Runners should use the official registration system to select their distance and complete payment.

The official 2027 registration page currently lists prices for the five distances, with prices changing as registration tiers progress. The Trail 50K general entry is currently sold out, although limited special entries are available through Premium Runner Services.

The race itself does not operate like a stadium event with conventional spectator tickets. Supporters can experience the public race atmosphere around Ordino, including the start and finish areas and race-week activities.
